After a complete engine rebuild, a transmission reseal, and a host of other little projects, I find this spring in the bin with the few unused new parts I still have. I have no idea where it came from or what it's for.
Anyone know what this is for? Where it belongs?

Too big diameter for relief spring, it seems-probably too short too. Beats me.

way too light to be a valve inner spring. I got nothing.

Well, looks like this is going to remain a mystery for now, until something doesn't work, then it's purpose will become clear.
