Default 73 911t repair/paint/modify

Bought this (signature pic below with my Dad last summer) 1973 911t a year ago 02.21.2013. It had been a track car and unregistered for 20+ years. Car has little bit of rust on rockers and floor. Also took a hit in right front at some point, moving right front back 1/2".
Interior is a mishmash of old/new. Has rear half of roll cage. RS door panels, RS carpet kit. Original tan seat that have been repaired with vinyl not quite matching.
Original engine and trans.
150k miles.
Original color is Aubergine as seen in engine compartment, under the hood and under the undercoating.
PLAN:
1) replace floor (already taken delivery of new floor from Stoddard)
2) frame rack to stretch front impact
3) patch other rust behind front wheels from sections from donor car
4) paint car original color - Aubergine (Barney)
5) interior will replace seats with those period correct Recaros in black, if not OEM then from GTS Classics (Sport S with basket weave inserts, perforated outers)
6) Add Wevo shifter, longer version
7) replace tan vinyl on dash face with black textured period correct vinyl (anyone know where I can source this material???)
8) engine - at this time, clean up what I have and reinstall. Was offered a working 2.7 that I can use for free and put mine on shelf
9) trans - clean it, open it and see what needs fixing (works ok now, little crunchy in 1st and 2nd but maybe nut behind the wheel instead of trans problem)
10) get a pair of 7Rx15 Fuchs for rear (it is my understanding that these are the widest Fuch that fit in OEM longhood rear fenders)
11) misc stuff like H4 headlights and other stuff I can't think of now (will add details as I remember/think them)
12) was offered a "S" front valance so thinking that would go nice on it.

It is possible that in the future may build hot rod motor for it, who knows.

Here it is in the shop 03.23.2014 getting ready for rust repair and tub stretching. Have to remove lots of stuff before going on the frame rack.

shots of engine compartment showing original color believed to be Aubergine. Forgot to take pic before lift went up of overspray at interior where OEM color is not all dirty like in engine bay.

interior needs cool seats and replace tan dash vinyl with black.
Also, the dash top is covered with a piece of plastic = thinking a nice OEM or similar dash top would look better than this shiny hard plastic cover. Anyone know where to get good dash top cover???

You are a lucky man to have a father/son project like this.

...and may I suggest a more period correct TR or RS door card from Appbiz. The RSA cards from the 964 era cars just kills the older cars IMHO.

The color is so unique it is cool on an old 911.
Nice to see you are restoring it to its original beauty!

The father/son project car was the Gemini Blue 1975 911S that I did last year (avatar). It was my Dad's car from back in the day and I found it, restored it, and gave it to him for his Bday last summer.

This one (under signature), the 73, is for me.

Thanks for suggestion on door panels as the ones in there now are annoying - the trim tabs on the handles always move and won't stay in place.

You could probably get a new clip to hold that trim, but ya, go with all new.

....and have you not seen your signature? You have plenty already.

Awesome project. Love the OG color and those houndstooth seats posted above are the business.
