Dear all,
I was driving my Carrera 3.2 round the circuit on a track day when suddenly I heard some type of warning sound, at least I think it was, accords from the dashboard. It sounded like a bird chirping and I first thought it was some kind of antitheaft signal from the radio but on the end of the straight I noticed that the brakes was'nt functioning as good as they supposed to. Next lap I noticed that the warning light for the brakes was on and I heard this signal constantly, needless to say I left the track.
My car is a Carrera 3.2 from 1986 and a US model. I would like to know if there is any connection between the bird chirp and the bad brakes.

You have a wear sensor on each of your brake pads, when the pads wear down to the point that this sensor makes contact with the disk you will hear the "bird" and the brake light on the dash will come on. Hope this points you in the right direction.
