As you can see in my profile, I own both type of Porsche. And from some German Porsche forum I know, that there is a steady growing amount of guy´s like me out there.
So , are there any fellows here that love and own those all time rivals ?

I've had my 944 a little longer than my 964 and I like them both. If one had to go, however, I would be keeping the 964. At 6'4" the 944 is a little more comfortable on longer trips, but I have just never driven anything else which matches the combination of power and control provided in the 964.

1983 911sc Targa and 87 944na
I have been in love with Porsches since I was 10 (back in 1984), and although both of my Porsches are quite different, they both have a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately they both are about to leave a large hole in my wallet
since the911 has broken studs on cyl #6, and the 944 needs rebuilt tranny :-(

I don't anymore, but I did own both at the same time. I still admire both of them. There was no rivalry in my stable - they both got along great, side by side, happy as can be! The Turbo was a good daily driver, but I have to admit I thought my M3 did a better job in that role (fantastic engine). Of all 3 of them, the "slowest" was my favorite - the 911 (speed isn't everything).

I also have both an '80 911SC and an '83 944na. Both are very different cars, but both have a place in my garage. I commute between Las Vegas and Redondo Beach, California. The 944 gets used for that run more in the summertime. The water cooling tolerates the stop and go heat in Vegas better, and the road ride is a little better. The 911 is definately more fun to drive, and will definately outperform the 944. The A/C works well in both cars, both have Sat/radio recievers for the desert crossings. I usually make the drive very early mornings, and usually average 4 hours door to door.
I know I am lucky having both marques, the best of both worlds.

Another way of looking at this question might be from the European perspective. For example, how do you believe the following question might be answered by a European: "How many of you have a 1965 Ford Mustang and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro?" While this might be fairly easy to accomplish in the U.S., I believe that it would be very difficult for a European (unless they were quite rich!)

No need to apologize! I was not offended, I just wanted to shed a little more light on the situation, and reiterate that I am incredibly happy to be in the "elite" group of U.S. owners of multiple Porsches.
