Newbie Question: is the 1982 911 3.0 an interference engine?

Tim,
I would talk with the Pelican guys. I believe Wayne was attempting to put together "total" rebuild kits. These include everything, so you don't have to keep running to the dealer or whoever for those small items you forgot about or didn't know you would need. The guys at Pelican are pretty knowledgable, and will advise on your job. Just my .02 cents worth.
Good luck!

Best place for new parts I've found is Engine Builders Supply (EBS) Jon and the gang are knowlegable, competitive and very free with advice. They always have a moment to help. for used parts I recommend Jeff @ Parts Heaven. Again knowledgable, competitive and helpful. Been dealing with both of them for about 12+ years
Ask EBS about thier JE piston/recon cylinder combos. Good value, better pistons than Mahle (forged not cast) and no problems.
Best,

Dave - I think you meant to say that the JE's are billet (Mahle are forged, AFAIK). Many folks I know prefer the Mahles, but I don't know all the reasons.

Oops, my mistake - JE's are forged - sorry for the confusion

Hi:
The VERY first thing your should do is a leakdown test and see exactly what is what. Thats the only way you will know what is wrong and how to proceed.
After that, you should consider how long you want your rebuild to last. This determines what parts you will install in the engine as they are not all equal,...
Good advice here about Motor Meister. Stay very far away.
