Its either Guards Red or Velvet Red - India Red was not an available color in 1988. I don't have my Haab's handy, but the Red Book shows Guards Red as 80K and Velvet Red as 81L

James, the codes you've displayed are M codes - they define the options your car came with. Your codes are: M473 - spoiler, M474 - sport shocks, M490 - HiFi sound system, M533 - alarm system, and M650 - electric sunroof.
The Reds available in 1988 are: 027 - guards red, 80F - carmine red, or 80D - cassis red (more like a metallic pink). You should be able to find the color code on the label on the underside of your front trunk lid. The option codes and your VIN are on the same label.
