And I care...??

You just bought a set of halogen incandescent bulb light fixtures when you could have simply installed halogen bulbs in your existing fixtures??

What have I missed??

...of course we care.

Did you order those online - or is there a decent retailer that actually stocks those kits in Canada?

Wow, lets just say there are some interesting reactions...
"And I care...?"

The box says "true high intensity...."

So fill in the blank, I'm guessing he just bought some true HID's and is excited.

Post before/after lighting pics!

Yea that's what my ??? were for. Why comment if your just gonna be an ***. BTW the bottom of the pic says "The look of HID... high performance halogen" - so are these just look alikes? They seem interesting either way.

Those are the true HID lights from Sylvania. I have had two different pairs - one for my dearly departed 1974 Ducktail look-a-like, and one set for my still flying 1979 930. They are absolutely great headlights. Real HID in a 6024 form factor. And DOT-legal for normal street/highway usage.

Congratulations! P.S. - consider mounting the ballasts on the sides of the trunk interior. Anything other than those kind of placements becomes a real pain. Enjoy!

the "look of HID" is actually a place mat for the sylvania Silverstar bulbs we sell at my shop.
these Zenarcs are 100% real HID.

thanks toby for the hint on where to mount the ballasts.... I think I'll take you up on your suggestion!

I ordered them from performance products.
http://www.performanceproducts.com/P...producttype=20

I paid $535 US + shipping from Ron at PP.
a smokin deal, due to a few errors they made with my past orders.
(hope he doesn't get in trouble for me posting this!)

his extension is 7634 if anyone is interested in buying these.

Slingshot:

Thanks for the contact info. Let us know how your installation goes and how happy you are with the results. Post pictures of your ballast location solution and the installed lights if you can.

Thanks

Ken

Well...

It says:

"HIGH INTENSITY DRIVING"

Not: "high intensity discharge"

And you can plainly discern that the bulb is actually a halogen incandescent.

Juan,

The halogen bulb you see in the picture is actually the high-beam bulb. The unit is in the box up-side down, thus you cannot see the HID bulb. In these units, the HID bulb is found in the upper half of the unit, while the high-beam is mounted in the lower half of the unit. Rest assured these are very real HID headlights.

How do I know this you may ask? Because I have owned and installed two sets of them. One in my dearly departed 74 Ducktail and one set in my 79 930.
