I have a 87 targa with a bad wire in the bundle that goes from the body into the drivers door. Completely puzzled how to get at this wiring as when the door is open, I cannot reach my big hands into the gap. Looking from the interior, it is not obvious how to get to the bundle of wires.
Any suggestions? Has anyone else had to replace just one wire from within this bundle? All hints are greatly appreciated
Tape the new wire to the old wire and pull it through like you would with a fish tape. Otherwise it's time to unwrap and disassemble the entire wire bundle and extract it by hand.
I have no issues pulling in a new wire, I am just having issues getting to the wire bundle I side the car (drivers side). That is where I am looking for some help ... Where does the wire bundle enter the car?
I thought I would check with some experts before I start ripping the whole drivers side apart.
Inside the door is easy, it is just getting into the bundle from inside the car that has me a bit concerned.
Thanks for the suggestions. This project is presently on hold as I am doing some other things on the car. When I get back to it, I will report back for others.
