The bigger risk is that after you buy it, it is seized by the state and you are out your $ and the car. This has happened.

You payed a deposit but did you buy it pending any inspection or verification. ? and is the deposit none refundable ?

I mean either way you should get it back but i am wondering if you could do it without throwing the paint guy under the bus , as without him you would have bought it unknowing. he is the guy you owe dinner.

See if you can inspect around the vin plate and look for weld marks. If you can you can cancel the deal based on that without hurting the paint guy ... also ..

What if the paint guy is wrong ? ... never know ..

BTW i am NOT the seller and not spamming ? lol

I have verified it was done and even seen the scraped car I will be getting my deposit back after my lawyer gets done and I have located a nice 70t Targa that my money will go toward. @ owner father and son

The paint guy is nervous that his name will be associated so while there we were able to get a very
Very bright light and look, and its definitely been welded in.

I hope the this bites him in the arss

I am scared as hell even though the shop has a good rep ( except for this )

I thought that this was illegal as heck and given the money involved !!

Help !
Funny that with just 3 posts, your login ID is identical to the specific car you are looking to "buy"... 1968911E.

What a co-incidence!

Do you happen to know Yarzy123?

He is also desperate to determine whether the feral Porsche he wants to "buy" is "worth more" than the ridiculous asking price?

We should introduce you... you seem to have a lot in common...

Well you saved some money in the long run and major consternation....good for the paint guy and protect his identity, he did you a service for no reward.
Swapping VINS is a crooks hallmark....once you get your money back I'd facebook the information and post on Porsche sites your sad tale.
IOTW Motormeister them.

It's a '70 2.2 911S I've owned since 1992... a funny story... among many funny stories... most of which I choose not to disclose unless I'm under oath or the influence... and it's not for sale, BTW.

My avatar is that old S at Summit about 12 years ago...maybe a month before it was retired to eat oats in the garage.

I don't plan to change it.

When was his sign up date on pelican? Seems he could have had his eye on the car before he signed up and just chose the name afterwards.

And ya JCP keep it as is.
