Welcome. SC's seem to range from $8,000 to $30,000. Makes no sense to me, really. A good target price would be $20K. Make sure you use your head to buy, not your emotions. They are fantastic machines.

My best advice is to recommend a thorough PPI from someone who really knows these cars and is both competent and honest.

Prices vary by condition, hence the need for that PPI.

Yup, don't even think about buying without a thorough PPI. Lots of great guys in Toronto that can recommend someone. Suggest you post in the Canada thread for recos.

Hi and welcome.
+1 on the PPI.
I didn't do it, and I learned the hard way.
I'm just finishing an engine rebuild after discovering broken head studs last year.
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement that these cars instil, and to get anxious that you are going to miss that "perfect" car because you are too picky or demanding of the seller. In actual fact, getting a PPI is a good way of keeping other potential buyers at bay while you take the time to have the car fully checked over. There are several very good independent shops in the Toronto area, of which Hunter Motorsports is one.
BTW, my '88 cost me $19K 4 yeas ago.

Cheers and good luck in your search
