I call these things my "Weapons", they arrived from the profile cutters today, so this is the first trial fit. Bolts straight onto the chassis legs, nice and sturdy mothers. Looking like they belong on a truck. Just as I wanted them. I'll save weight in other places...

Bumpers painted and another trial fit...

They will probably come off one more time, to paint the insides black, install brake cooling tubes and some mesh behind the vents in the rear parachute, erm bumper...

And then we'll start on that ugly-*** wing...

The wing...

I've been dragging my heels on the wing issue. RSR wing is way too big and looks ridiculous on a narrow body RS clone, so I am not putting it on the car, end of story. Need to find a low budget cheap fibre glass whale tail or 3.2 wing for a bargain, or settle for a duck tail.

The paint shop also screwed up on matching the colour, so it's slightly off on the bumpers, but to hell with that, this is a budget racer and not a concourse garage queen. Besides, the colour difference will be hardly noticeable when the stickers go on.

More low budget scrounging coming soon...

Rocker Panels...

We found some mild rust where we broke off the 964 skirts that were bonded to the car. Fixed with rust-converter, some body filler, filler-primer, air-brushed and finished them off with red Carrera side stripes to match the wheel centres...

Rear bumper is done.

A quick stroll through a breakers yard yielded some free plastic mesh from an old broken plastic grille that we cut up and laminated to the inside of the rear bumper to finish off the vents. The car is "street legal" and the R-clips are quick-release mounts for the number plate.

Talk about cheap-skate low budget.

Still working on the front bumper and still waiting for the whale tail wing to come...

But today the stickers arrived and I couldn't wait to slap these on first...

These are just one/third of the stickers going on the car, it's probably gonna look like a X-mas tree...

The whale tail arrived today, first trial fit went much better than the RSR wing.

And we slapped on some more stickers...

Ho-Ho-Ho...

It's X-mas eve and my work on Little Half Pint is about done. (Still gotta change them horrible exhaust tips.) Took it around the block a few times today and it feels good. We're taking it out on a breakfast run this weekend...

Come January I'll send it up to M&R to get the sump plug & oil filter lock-wired and install the external cut-out switch etc. Corner weights and final set-up of course. We gonna run it on semis, so it's gonna be loose and fun to drive on track. Shakedown race will be the Historic Int'l at Zwartkops raceway end Jan, looking forward to that...

You guys have a good Christmas.

Cheers,
Pierre.
