Okay now, the wheels...

I had to make a call on the wheels. And, I had to think with the end in mind. When I mod a car I like to keep something about the look of the car when it fell into my hands and build on that. Kinda keep with the legacy of the car, if you know what I mean...

Half Pint came with black centres and I thought it looked good, especially on track, so I wannit to keep the scheme and improve on it...

But,

One of my main suppliers expressed interest in sponsoring the car and their corporate colours are predominantly RED, and since I was thinking with the end in mind, I took inspiration from my little 964.

Red on White looks so good...

And that made up my mind when I dropped the wheels off.

Picked em up from my wheel guy today, polished bling lips with red centres. I think they gonna look good...

Duncan, the old wing was 964 RS, sans the top aerofoil.

Pierre really fantastic setup! Could you post a few closeups of the headers ( if there) and muffler systems? interested in how you hung /supported the tube mufflers off the back (from bumper?) or email me.

thanks frank

Thanks Frank.

The mufflers are not attached to the rear bumper at all. I'll take some close ups of the headers & muffler mounts for you on Monday and post it here.

Bumpers & Rear Deck.

Like I said, they were cheap, but nasty. The front bumper has been bolted on and taken off numerous times to make brackets and get a semi-decent trial fit. I will not do this again. Next time I will buy decent quality stuff and save on time and aggravation. New fibre glass tend to pull and warp, so the idea is to get the stuff bolted on ASAP. I'm a kinda perfectionist and wanted a neat job, but hell, it was hard.

The Front Bumper.

The car came with the oil cooler mounted in front of the right front wheel, as is stock. I prefer that setup instead of a front mounted oil cooler. If you tap someone in the heat of battle, a front mounted oil cooler is the Achilles heel of classic 911s. Damage the oil cooler and your race is over...

So the centre intake will be closed and I will mount the number plate there for street use.

The Rear Bumper.

Or Parachute as I call it. I mounted it best I could and drilled the bloody thing full of holes so trapped air can escape. Looks a tad tacky, but with the rear bumper I'm going for function over form and to hell with the rest.

The Deck / Wing.

An abortion of poor fit. Being a RSR wing, it's the wrong choice for this car and way too big, but I needed to put something on the car and this will have to do for now, budget dictating. Hopefully it won't look too bad in the end.

Pics coming up...

Another trial fit.

This time we dropped the car on its wheels to get a feel for what it's gonna look like...

Frank, here are those pics I promised. The brackets are quite simple, they are stainless steel and have held up quite well. (The car came with this setup) I'm gonna make small changes soon, moving the tube mufflers forward so I can fit better exhaust tips.

I'm also gonna have the headers ceramic coated.

Hope this helps, Cheers.
