Talking Just bought 1988 911 cab, m491

Purchased today after week of negotiation and PPI. Car is white w/brown interior and top. CarFax was clean and PPI at Porsche dealer only showed a few areas that needed attention; new tires, in-opt washer motor, rt window switch, oil cooler fan and tear on shifter ****. As a result, was able to negotiate a substantial reduction on the asking price and left the car at the Porsche dealer to order the parts and perform the needed repairs. Car is in Louisville, Ky. and can't decide whether to pay $800 to have her shipped or fly to Louisville and drive her the ~450 miles back to Atlanta?

Awesome car. Drive it home. A fellow Rennlister from Georgia just flew to LAX and drove home in a '72 Alfa Romeo.....so it can be done.

Drive it back, I bought my M491 in Fresno CA and drove it back to NYC.

Best way to bond with the car, just get a spare DME relay

Drive it. Mine was in Myrtle beach and I drove it back to Newfoundland... Would have it no other way. Leaving in 2 weeks to drive a car to Florida for a buddy of mine. May look for something to drive home in. another PCar maybe.

Congrats!

Another vote for the drive. If that guy could risk driving from LA to Georgia in a '72 Alfa, with their known fuel pump problems, you can do in in a bulletproof '88 911 from Louisville. Should be a blast over those hills.

Oh, and check out the thread about the guy who drove a '67 911S from KC to LA in a day.

Go and get her... She deserves to be driven; that's what Butzi would have wanted.
