Congrats. That Nougat Brown is stunning in person and really comes to life in the sun with the top down.

Great looking car, and ditto on the beautiful color of that leather. Congrats! To quote another post on another forum on deciding whether to drive it home; "Is that even a question?"

Good luck,
GK

450 miles is a day trip. Fly out early in the morning and drive the car home. You'll be home in time for dinner!

I would drive it back without hesitation. Having been a CAB owner, I would however suggest making sure the CAB top is working correctly....ie not leaking when raining. I got caught in a small downpour with mine and it leaked enough to get the carpet fairly wet in short order.

Congrats and best of luck.

As it turns out, my daughter has qualified for the National Horse Show in Lexington being held next Friday and Saturday. So, we're driving up early Thursday, my wife will drop me off in Louisville to pick up the 911 and I'll follow her onto Lexington for the horse show and then drive home on Sunday. By the time I get home I will have driven her over 500 miles and be well acclimated to the car. I can't wait.

Oh dear ... simply look at the rear breakes and anyone who makes a PPI (and has a little knowledge about these cars) can see that this car is NO M491 car, as i wrote you per PM yesterday - and although you did not believe my words: to buy a COA is not more than a waste of money and time.

... about 40K is really too much money for a fake with about 100000 miles ...

get your money back (also for the PPI) or a big refund if you still like that car ...

Best from Germany

Norbert

Wow now there is a worthwhile post. I got my COA right after I got my car. Worth it as a momento but even more in this case. When did they start putting option stickers on the cars?

Sounds like coffee black and op are in a great position to share some notes and photos. If he is happy with his car and what he payed so be it. But if he feels defrauded, this is going to get ugly fast after driving it away 450 miles.

I have an 88', the M491 code will be under the hood ... Rear brakes are mounted to the rear, front brakes are mounted to the front on M491. Also they are 930 brakes. Easy check is to see if it has 930 valve covers although a PO could have updated these. This car has no 3rd brake light!

He can also go to turbolook.com and enter the Vin to get it certified.

I though the guy way over paid for this car, I paid $20k for an 88 M491 with 92k miles 6 months ago n about the shape shape as the subject car. I've put another $4,000 in it just to keep up maintenance, service, new AC, etc. if the poster paid a premium and likely will spend another few grand then this is a $40k car.

Sent an email trying to get some info ... If these folks sell a car under false pretense, probably ignorance but still.

Hello, did you verify that this car is in fact an true M491 option? The rear brakes should be mounted to the rear and be 930 turbo brakes. There are other tell tale signs, but ultimately there should be an option sticker under the front hood and have the option code listed there.

Can you send me a picture of this sticker so I can allay the fear that this isn't a real turbo look car?

FYI, the buyer is told that this isn't a real M491 on some message boards.
