Just bought a 1996 C2 993 and have questions
Hey guys, so a couple of years ago I briefly owned the "holy grail" of n/a 993's which was a 1998 c2s and stupidly sold it. Only saving grace is that it was to a family member and he promises to only ever sell it to me. Anyway, I just got back from a 4 day long car search trip up in New England. I drove lots of fun cars and got real close on a 997 c2s but the price was out of line. Anyway, at the 11th hour (day before I had to fly back home) I accidently found and purchased a 1996 C2 Cab 6 speed with 30k miles. It needed some things so I flew home and I'm returning to pick it up and drive back to Florida...
A few questions:
1. I bought it from a Porsche dealer. The car had spongy brakes. They are keeping the car to replace the Master Cylinder. Any thing else I should check for related to that?
2. I didn't try the A/C. I know dumb, but the top was down, weather was beautiful, and I had not planned on buying it. The car just hit me right. So, I asked them to have the techs check to make sure it was around 45 degrees blowing temp. anything else to look for?
3. Radio needed code. They said tech had to drive it for "20 miles" before the radio (stock) would accept the code. I understand it all works fine now that code has been entered.
4. Thing that sucks is car is low on service records. CarFax shows a couple of oil changes and a one owner in vermont. The car has zero paint work. It just had spark plug wires and plugs replaced. It felt very peppy (in fact a little peppier than my 993 c2s I mentioned above). It also tracked perfectly straight.
I am flying to pick this car up in about a week and drive home over 1,000 miles. What are you cautions or assurances??
Thanks!

Jump over to the 993 section, read and search your questions. This is a great forum. Congrats.
