you might also want to consider the effects of gearing, my '76 originally has a 915/44 which was way short w/ the less powerful 964 engine, I changed to a 915/67 to have taller gearing, for street use the car could even use taller as it feels under geared probably because of the lt. wt
here's a comparison of the push in each gear comparing the 915/67 in my C3 and the full race g50/30 transmission in my 993 both w/ the same engine.
the /67 is way too low in first, notice that they are identical in top gear

Check out VOSSTEK`S 930 Super Turbo Ultra Wide Body kit its a Rauh Welt look alike, it is made of the same material and is just as wide.
