Default Carrera 3.0 Mods

Hi all, I've recently found a Carrera 3.0 for sale locally. Per the listing, it currently has these parts installed: NEW SACHS CLUTCH · TRI-FLOW STAINLESS EXHAUST · CUSTOM INTERIOR · STEEL CARRERA FENDER FLARES · H4 HEADLIGHTS · 17” FORGELINE RIMS (315/35R17 REAR, 245/45ZR17 FRONT) · NEW DUNLOP TIRES · STEEL WIDE BODY · RED POWDER COATED FAN · NEW ECU AND BOSCH RACE COIL · TURBO TIE RODS · JM AIRBOX COVER · VOSTEK BILLET ALLOY PEDAL KIT · 944 TURBO STYLE FRONT BUMPER · PORSCHE 993 MIRRORS . My question is this: How much power do you guys think it would be making currently, and how much would cost/is it possible for me to get to the 300whp mark?. I'm between this and a 964 turbo, but I love the look of this car. Thanks in advance, Stephen

How deep are your pockets? The engine will cost more than the car. Let me find you the link.....

Listen very closely when he says this car is putting down 270 to the tires:

wait a second. What year is this Carrera? If it's one of the '74 cars, then you might consider restoring it.

We're talking worlds apart here. I'm referring to the 1976-77 Carrera 3.0 Steve referred to in the original post.

I've got a friend in Boston with one that was hacked beyond recognition into a widebody racer. Still under construction, it will be used as a tarmac rally car.

These cars are the '76-7 "pre-SC" with the 930 3.0 engine in CIS-equipped normally aspirated form. Strictly ROW, but a few got gray marketed in during the mid-late '80s. Most were POS when they hit here, and caused us any manner of grief in the repair world.

Yeah we know you hate all 2.7 torsion bar cars etc etc, but a real 3.0 Careers is a great car, given proper care.
