As we'd kinda discussed prior, I always enjoyed the 9.8:1 CIS 3.0s. Ran one in my SC in the early 90s, until that pesky melted piston issue on a hot evening up in Seattle (1 mile "front" straight, nearly all on acceleration, if you haven't been there). Only reason I didn't miss it more was because that car then ended up with a 3.5!

Ran the 930-10 yesterday in 98 degree ambient at 75 for an hour going to Phoenix...the needle never got over the 194 degree tick mark....I do have a Carrera oil rad/block off etc. it runs very cool.

as per request...not too many picks but here you go[IMG][/IMG]

nice pic of the tranny side, my 930-16 had a nicer flywheel than this so we switched it over later...this has been run 6k miles, note the lack of any leaks and the new fittings , sensors etc...Howard does not cut corners

Howard said it was important to do a special Porsche dance around the new motor to rid it of evil spirits...this is how the dance starts out[IMG][/IMG]

I think it's something he learned at the Cajun Porsche training Center

I stuck the speedo back in the partially stripped donor car for record. This is the total mileage the bottom end has on it[IMG][/IMG]

The nice red '83 ROW rear ended the car it was trailing in an outing, there was some kind of demonstration or such going on and the driver got distracted....ouch

His defacto propeller...I like it...also like the clear coat on the Mag housing to protect it.

When I leave the office today, I'll take a look under my car for a rattler......even though I know one won't be there! Fat is right.

You get use to it, everyone has a gun with snake shot tho....not into 'catch and release'. My dog Amos is a good snaker, always lets me know when one is near.
He didn't smell this one tho, the garage smells hid the little fella.

Go see the Doc. The young ones are actually more dangerous venom wise than the mature snakes, they give you all the venom they have....20 to 30% of the time you don't get venom with a mature snake.
This guy was trying to get out of the sun. They are mostly a nuisance.
They are also territorial so if you are a 'greeny' and catch and release elsewhere they will return to their own den, they've marked them and had them travel over 10 miles to get home.
