Whew, 3200 plus miles round trip done.
The 230k 83 SC 930-16 ran flawlessly for its 1600 miles out, got 24 mpg and used a tad over 2 qts of oil...good deal.
The 7k 83 SC 930-10 ROW ran flawlessly home on its 1600 mile shake down, got 23 mpg and used maybe a few ounces of oil...can't really tell.
Howard Freeman built the motor and I stayed with him over the weekend, met some new friends that are great Porsche mechanics/enthusiasts and had a fantastic time.
Couldn't have had a better time.
The new motor came with SSI's, all the plumbing and a Dansk 2 in 1 out sport muffler...it is so sweet I can't stand it. Howard took my 930-16 in partial trade.
I have some pics and will write a better story in a day or so.
Watching Howard work is amazing...he dropped my motor Friday night in under 1 hour while we were BSing...he could of done it quicker if I wasn't bugging him...all he uses is a lift and a jack..bang zoom.
