Does anybody have a source for metal valve stems for 6x16 and 7x16 Fuchs wheels for track use?
My first choice is a Porsche original part like P/N 993 361 073 00 in the attached picture. BUT I believe this stem is meant for hollow spoke wheels like the ones on 993s which have smaller mounting holes than the holes in my Fuchs. In particular, the diameter of the P/N 993 361 073 00 section that goes through the mounting hole is 0.250 inch and the diameter of the holes in my Fuchs is 0.453 inch (11.5 mm). However, if anybody has successfully used the P/N 993 361 073 00 in Fuchs, please let me know.
My second choice is good quality metal stems meant for track use that fit AND have rubber contacting the wheel on both the inboard and outboard sides of the mounting hole.
TireRack says that they do not sell metal stems anymore. And I don't have enough faith in the Walmart or Auto Zone version.
Something like these Alligator-Ventilfabrik stems would be perfect:
http://alligator-ventilfabrik.de/fronte ... tnr=511983
BUT these are not available in the US unless you want to buy a lot more than four.

Ebay seems to have lots of chrome and fancy valve caps products. But I can't find anything in the way of quality racing stems that cost less than the ~$20 per stem Ray's Racing version.

Thanks wildcat077, I may go for those. But I'm having trouble with the idea of using a no name brand chrome valve stem because:
1. who knows what kind of quality control was used to make them and
2. chrome on a forged aluminum wheel doesn't seem right.
