As can be seen from the above which were linked to in an earlier post,
the MSD 8222 (MSD's CDI coil) has basically the identical spec to most
all the TCI coils. So using the 8222 coil should not be a problem for the
Bosch CDI, as would be the case when using most any TCI coil.
Loren, I find myself quite confused. Is there actually a method for measuring a coil's primary inductance without influence from the secondary, most especially if the primary/secondary windings are tightly coupled magnetically, say using an E+I configuration, or even a C+I configuration.

And even should you be able to somehow measure them "independently" don't they always operate "in concert".

Might the magnetic path coupling co-efficient be a lot more telling of the coil/transformer overall efficiency than the simple inductance and resistance measurements alone reflect.

And what about circuit "Q", or possibly much more important, 1.4 microfarad capacitor (Bosch CDI) and selected coil/transformer inductance circuit's resonance frequency,
