Red face Tranny verdict

Here is a pic of a 901 transmission

It is the shaft that is closest to the camara, not the main gear shaft, that has snapped off taking the gear with it. Does anyone have any ideas were to locate a replacement to this shaft if still it is available. Any used parts stores that would carry this and how much [IMG]

Looks like the input shaft. Try Road and Race in Los Angeles, Ca. I saw quite a few input shafts there last week. I believe it's Motorsports Road and Race, a sponsor of Rennlist.
Good luck!

I contacted both Road and Race and Rennsport systems asking the costs for the input shaft replacement. Does it take 8 hours to clean and inspect the transmission along with the replacement. It seems a little high to me. I don't know I'm certainly no expert on 901 transmissions, though as a result of this, I maybe one soon.

I see bits of metal. Those bits have likely destroyed all the roller bearings. You may do better to find a replacement transmission, even if it requires going through.

This picture is not one of my transmission. It is from pelican parts from a tech page. Mine seems to be in much better shape than that besides the tip of the input shaft and 1st gear in my hand.
