I would also end up with better looking brakes

If I get the adapter kits would this work

thanks
i've never seen Boxster rotors mounted on a 911, maybe someone else has, they always use 3.2 Carrera front and 3.2 Carrerea or stock SC rear rotors

I have seen 996 rotors used but beyond that I don't know details except that the hubs are modified, I personally don't see how
from left 996 rear, 996 front, 911 rear rotors

Standard Boxster and just the front. One of the front calipers was bad so we replaced them both with these.

I sold it before I went all the way.

Bill V and Steve W are your wallets best friend and it's worst enemy

they will save you from spending money on things that dont work
but convince you that the right "upgrade" isnt cheap

I agree 100% with Bill's comment to do a little more research - having dont some upgrades myself - Bill V was 100% spot on as to the info I needed,...and then I was able to make th choice that fit me best - and my wallet

I'd start by ditching the 18" wheels, those just don't look right on these cars.

I ran 993 calipers all around with 309mm Wilwood rotors up front and stock rotors at rear. Stopped and looked good in 17" wheels. Also fit inside my old BBS 16's.

I am in Ireland also and going through a similar
Porsche brakes issue now. How did you get on in the end?

I ended up buying this kit

https://www.porscheshop.co.uk/porsch...rsche-911.html

I had guys from auto haus do the work +353 87 988 3633
Over all it was expensive but I ended up with much better breaking and they look much better then the stock

I find my sc brakes quite outstanding even just stock. But I don't track my car so that may be it.

Sorry if this is a bit of a hijack, but I find my SC brakes very good, and I do track my car with the stock rotors/calipers, albeit with race pads. Zero fade and superb feel (disclaimer: no power mods except an SSI, and lightened the car to 2550). Seems like lots of money to spend on an aesthetic item that only you will notice --and that's when you're bent down and peeking-- but that's your prerogative

it's called BLING!!

Two real reasons to alter the brakes:
1. you lack brake torque
2. you lack cooling

#1 is rarely (never?) an issue

#2 is best addressed by technique or ducting in some air tho you can add thermal mass by putting big rotors on your car (which will also increase wt. on the wheel, harming handling)

what we really need is reliable & cheap PCCBs for old cars

(I hear Tesla is working on a kit for us...)

Default Rotors

What rotor is used for this? I have a full set of Boxster S / 996 calipers i'd like to adapt to my 79' SC. The car sit son 17" RUF CTR1 Speedlines so clearance should not be an issue. The rotor thickness on the Boxster S is 28mm on the rear and 24mm on the fronts. Fitting the calipers is not the issue, its sourcing the right rotros.

Thanks
