Default 77 911, very good, no engine/trans

OK, here's the deal. My buddy has the 77 911. He had it taken apart, body repainted, interior re-done, all is very nice. All other mechanicals are good or re-done.
He took the engine/trans to another "friend" for a rebuild. Friend claims it was stolen. He looked into legal action, decided not worth it. He wants to sell the car, and has no idea what it's worth with no engine & trans.
Any suggestions?

$16k
- 5k (trans)
- 6K (engine)
- 3K (labor + misc)
= $2K.

Sad to say, but that's my $0.02...

I'd get some pics, without drivetrain it is no doubt a project, but a top notch restoration of the paint and interior will be worth quite a bit more than $2k to the right buyer...if it is really well done finding an sc drivetrain would make a nice car.

Too many unknowns like brakes, suspension, etc. I'd vote for Pete's $2k guess.

if its a 74-77 it could be worth more without the engine than with it
