My 88 Carrera came from the factory with a short shifter installed.

No doubt that the G50 short shift kit WAS a FACTORY option on my '89. As someone else demonstrated, it's an option code and is noted on the original window sticker. No aftermarket stuff needed in that case,..it is truly PORSCHE!

I have a 1987 3.2 Carrera (G50) that came with factory option code 341 - short shifter

Does anyone have the same option?

On my '89, I have the option of M243 ---- Shorter gear shift lever

According to Kindel's site, M341 is central locking system

I too have an 89 Carrera Targa. The "shorter gear shift lever" is listing on the manufacturer's invoice for $67.00. The option code is not listed on my invoice.

^^^Mine too. My throw is an inch or so less in each direction compared to several I have driven.

IIRC the 89 25th anniversary model was also delivered with short shift & LSD as standard so porsche definitely had them back then.

Does the Wevo & porsche kits differ in anyway in terms of result or operation?
