If it is for transmissiony work you don't need one.

Chris, the disk IS for transmission work. I'm trying to get the shouldered nut off the input shaft. What do you or anyone else suggest.

Mark emailed me, I didn't realize Mark has posted the question here as well. In case someone else is curious:
To loosen/tighten nut with shaft in transmission, lock the transmission in 2 gears at once.
To loosen/tighten nut out of transmission I use my vice with some aluminum jaws. You can get them from Pep Boys for about $5 or from Griots (for probably $20).

Mark,
Just buy the tool. Maybe Pelican Parts has one to rent. Life is so much easier with the right tool for the job.

Druck,
I feel the same way you do on buying the right tool for the job but I cannot find these tools anywhere:
P 37a input shaft lock
p 355a input shaft mounting tool
If you know where I can get these let me know.
