Thanks very much, guys. I was psyched when the site contacted me and said they wanted to make a short film -- even though I suspected I would come across as a nervous idiot on camera. But they made me look not-so-idiotic, which I'm thrilled with. And on top of that, I got to see footage of my car cruising around the track and some local canyon roads.

I had to wince at the prominently placed Harbor Freight jack when I was working on the car at the track. But what are you going to do? I'm pretty thrifty. I got all of those Metabos second-hand, and learned to love Kroil because of growing up in the rust belt. I'd love to have nothing but really good tools, but that would cut into my budget for track days.

Magnus has gotten a huge amount of attention lately. But I've known him for a long time, and you won't find a more genuine and straightforward guy.

I believe that....my earlier comments were for the "MW Glee club" posting on his Pelican thread...some of the grown men sound like high school girls.
BTW, you presented your hobby in a very straightforward manner....well done.

Jack, there is also a threa in off topic called something like "Cool 911 video". Your car is making you famous.

Your car needs it's own facebook page. actually not kidding. That would be the coolest thing.

Thanks, I'll do a search and see it.

A Facebook page can't be any stranger than the fact that my two-car garage already has one.

http://www.facebook.com/JackOlsensGarage#

It's got its own website, too.

That's funny - one of my crew chiefs had sent me a picture of your garage when I'd mentioned I wanted to redo mine!!

well...no. I guess I'm getting old. I was watching him on Jay Leno's garage.

It's the same for the Singer 911 guys for me. I love their work, but doubt I'd enjoy working with the designer guy for a year while my custom 911 was being finished. When you do the work yourself, you have no one else to argue with.

Back to Jack's 911 video.....I really loved the in-car footage, and the insights he offers about suspension vs. power. I thought that little profound bits of wisdom like this, plus the backstory about how the garage came to be was absolutely fantastic. I have two HF El Cheapo jacks. I really like the 3-ton Harbor Freight jack. It lifts the tractor and motorhome, so who can complain about that?

I could swear I saw a 20mph sign on that canyon road.....then again, maybe it said 120mph.

Fantastic, I really enjoyed that!

Now we need more footage of the car on the road from the out-takes!

Your car is magnificent, Jack. I love what you've done with it. I'll probably never have my 911 as tricked out as you or Magnus have done, but you've both inspired me to continually keep improving on what I've got. Thanks!

Anyone using Kano Labs material is O.K in my book.

I also prefer BB to Magnus' cars, though I do like a lot of his interior bits. I'm happy that both of you are making custom Porsches with timeless looks and proper driving characteristics. There's no evil in modification, but boy can it go wrong easily...

Jack your video is definitely making the rounds, and everyone that I have sent it to (me included) loves it. Those of us who track our street cars can definitely relate, and you've done all Porsche owners proud. Cheers
