wifes daily driver, hummer h3 alpha adventure. alpha; means all aluminum 5.3 ls v8, "all options" touchscreen nav, hands free bluetooth, leather, heated seats and mirrors, pwr sunroof, pwr everything, etc etc etc. adventure; means 4:56 gears, front and rear lockers for a true 4 wheel dig, 4:1 transfer case, factory 1" lift, factory 285/33" tall tires. now since this pic has additional 2" lift and 315/35" tall bfg all terrain tires. so yes her 911sc ls1 is just a toy, lol.

with all due respect perhaps you should ask to have your thread moved to a forum where this thread might garner more interest. this forum is guys with 911s with Porsche engines. just not much interest here guaging the responses and hate to see you wasting your efforts.

another clutch trick is to use a 915 pressure plate. start with a new one and a used one. take them both to your local clutch rebuild store. have them take the straps off both pp's and put 3 per location back on the new pp. it starts with 2 per location. this will make the lbs per square inch stronger by about 400-500ftlbs on the pressure plate without making the pedal effort much more.

several ppl have asked... no need to integrate the ls1 wiring harness into the porsche harness. use a ls1 stand alone wiring harness and pcm with 5 wire hook up. retain the porsche ecm and engine sensors to run the chassis and dash. only gauge you will need to modify is the tach. the ls1 runs on a 4cyl signal. either put a 914 tach in or have hollywood speedo make you one.

Curious... why the love for the LS1? Follow-up question would be, "why not build a muscle car"?

Interesting project, and I'll be curious to see some pics of the process.... but I don't understand the desire for that combination. It seems like you have a lot of fun cars, to build 4 LS1 carrera's you must love something about both I'm guessing?

The flat 6 is such a unique and beautiful engine... I couldn't imagine replacing it.

the ls motors are very reliable, easy to maintain, and cost effective. easy to get hp/tq from. i love 911's. dont care too much for muscle cars. so i combine the ls motors into the 911 chassis. i have driven several ls1 911's they are alot of fun. you should try one some time.

post script; all new meaning to throttle steer lol
