Default Carrera 3.0 tail condition? Factory or repaired?

Nevermind. The seller brought it to a Porsche guy for a second opinion, and guess what?

I think they may have used some type of fiberglass in that area,..I see something similar on my 3.2

If it is cheap enough I won't matter, anything can be made to look good in the right hands. Is it all fiberglass or is the frame steel?

This has a complete metal frame and a proper Porsche part number on the small brace.

That is a little too much glob. Looking that the same corner there seems to be lines that appear to be a little damage. No big deal. Again....if it cheap enough.........

He wants $800.l which I don't think is cheap enough if it had damage. I offered less due to what i see as possible previous damage. He doesn't seem to think there was any damage, so I'm looking for input from you folks with more experience with these early glass tails.

Most aftermarket tails are full fiberglass. I think, looking at it being metal/glass, and the Carrera 3.o it could be factory....but who knows???

...and I don't see "damage"

This is a Porsche OEM tail, not aftermarket...and I guess by 'damage' I really mean 'repair'.

Looks like it's got a couple colors of paint, but I don't see anything that says 'repair' as each and every glass part has fitment issues that have to be manually sanded and filled as needed. There is no such thing as a fiberglass part that is ready for instillation the second it comes off of the mold.....just ask Jaime.

@TWALDRON: I mean to say "Porsche". I will try to dig up some photos of my whaletail. The car is presently in for painting but I may have some shots that demostrate the
"fiber".....

BEST!

This is what my Weissach tail looked like when I stripped it down.
