Default Really? 84 3.2 car backdated to 911 ST worth >$100k?

This car on ebay is an 84 3.2 car beautifully recreated (reinterpreted?) as a 911 ST. Buy It Now is over $125k. That is WAY over my car budget but is that the market for that kind of car?

I love the longhoods so I have a daily routine for checking who's selling and how much. I don't have extra space and the good ones are all out of my price range so it's mostly just an exercise.

No. And hopefully in my lifetime something like this never will be.

At least I can take comfort that the pile of parts that is the 100% never-had-any-rust '73 faux RS shell + guts of Ruby + some labor leaves me with a cosmetically challenged version of one of these for less than 20% of their ask. Leave a lot of room for a flare job and paint/cosmetics, if that were an important part of the equation......

Looks like they were trying to duplicate the Steve Mcqueen 911S at 1/10th the price

id be shocked if that sold close to that. Not impressed at all. I wouldnt lift that for half the price.
Trying to sell the car with 2 poor exterior pics too.. the whole thing just seems off to me. I love long hoods and building one myself currently, not sure why that one looks so wrong to me.

Makes me feel good about my IROC tribute. At least it "is" a 1974 / and NSRC - and it has the guts to make it go and the the whoa to make it stop...

An ST was a low volume factory race car. This looks like a backdate/resto with ST fenders.

Inane and insane to think that will go for north of $100k.

You could spend that having some one do the work. Rarely do folks think it will actually translate into that kind of return when a clone though.
If you are going to spend that kind of money rebuilding get a real one to invest in.
A friend restores MBZ...specializes in 190SL's from the 50's...a disassembly/total rebuild will start at 100k, more if you find major body issues. Then you can sell it for 65-85 k so you better really like the car.

Actually it is a pretty sweet hot rod that I find hard to believe anyone would mind in their garage. At the same time there is no disagreement that the entry fee is very stiff.

Hey Dr. Evil....what do you think you'd be paying for labor on your build if you were sourcing it out?

Nice build, but some things have me scratching my head. Like the price and why did they move the window switches down to the heater control console between the seats.

JMHO, but for that kind of money, I would have liked a proper sunroof delete and real RSR flares on the car, not the Turbo ones.

Am I missing something? What is a "Carrera 920"?

Quick Reply: Really? 84 3.2 car backdated to 911 ST worth >$100k?
