Really? 84 3.2 car backdated to 911 ST worth >$100k?

Yeah, I saw this last night, enjoyed the pics, and scratched my head at the price.
Not sure I'm digging the red intakes on the motor, and I'm also curios about the heat controls. Is that some kind of manual/automatic heat hybrid?

Not for that car IMHO. While its easy to spend upwards of $100K on a RS/RSR/ST build-- take your pick-- whether you are backdating or starting with a longhood, at least do it right. Again, and in my opinion the heart and soul of an above referenced early car is the engine and a 3.2 Carrera engine just doesn't cut it. A great motor for sure, but to me it just doesn't look right in an ST build. Also, the flares aren't right (they look like 930 flares to me) and a bunch of other details are off. A nice car, no doubt, but to me it's just gotta' be closer to the mark...my 2 cents.

I am just cleaning, replacing worn items/parts, and proactively replacing parts that are prone to problems.
Back to this car, completely agree... it really calls for 6 trumpets in that engine bay... nothing looks like a flat six with trumpets... Someday I will have a car with an engine bay that looks like this... so frigging awesome looking!!

Thing with the early intakes is do you want to have a "look", or do you want to take advantage of what we've learned in the past, oh, 25 years?
Sure, I've got some 46's to drop onto the top of the Ruby engine when I get to that point. They've been sitting on the shelf for a decade or more, and cost me next to nothing. But I'm not expecting a better running engine, with more power output than what can be done with an electronically managed induction. (See: Gamroth's system with individual throttle bodies topped with a plenum.)
And I won't even get into (lack of) fuel economy, or choking-on-hydrocarbons aspects of carbs or MFI.

I have to admit, I just want the clean looks... but that is just me. I want a car with the least amount of crap in the engine bay.
But I have seen some different combinations of the looks with the modern engine controls... like this one:

I think this is either a scam, or it will serve as a selling point later. "I had it listed on ebay for $100,000.00, but for you, I'll let it go for half that, 'cause I like you so much."
No?

I know, I saw that video, the Singer is in a class by itself, was sort of tongue in cheek.
A 911 for Carrera GT money is definitely in a class by itself!
