Default spotted a 911s targa needing restoration

Just spotted this 911s targa this morning. Could use a bit of work but it's a gorgeous car. Any idea what year it is?

Mid-year 74-77.

Wonder if the ducktape is really holding the top down.

Either that, or he had sealed seams for aerodynamics in prep for a speed record run.

Red duct tape adds about 3 HP vs. gray duct tape.

Thx! Despite the ducktape mods still a great looking car.

If you don't mind me asking, what gave the year away vs a 1971 targa?

Thx!

The narrow body combined with impact bumpers = 74-77 aka Mid-Year Cars.

The SCs in 1978 received rear fender flares and the window trim, etc went to black vs. chrome.

FYI chrome was still available on the SC in 78's , at least on the Targa .

I just spotted in a parking lot.

I know the 71 targa s go for quite a bit. Not sure about the mid-seventies.
