That is the setup I have. I found a great deal on some 245/45-16s for the rear and they look great and I like the handling dynamics.

I found this picture, not my car but it looks like this car has the big tires , i think and I don't like it..
This Targa, unlike your car, has 15" wheels.
Nice colour BTW.

For a short time I had 2 sets.
My original 6x16 with 205/55, 7x16 with 225/50 (OEM Dunlops)
The new 7x16 with 205/55, 8x16 with 245/45 (trashed P Zeros)

I tried my original rear 7x16s with 225/50 on the front, and felt the clearance with the fender lip was too tight, so that's why I'm sticking with the 205s up front.

All my wheels are 911 part numbers, not 951 wheels.

Here is a pic of my 7s & 8s with the P Zeros

Peter, I was told just to use the same tires I have now, I'm out of town and won't be back til next week to get them installed, I have to see what tires sizes I have but I think I have 205's in front and 225's rears is that the sizes, is that going to work?

I have a feeling looking at iroroberston shots that its more about the tyre make..

if those are 205/55/16s on the front.. then they sit much more flush with the tyre.. than the bridgestones do in my pictures..

Are these genuine Fuchs? The petals /centres look different - could just be the angle

ETA - my 7x16 front with 205/55 S02 N3 inflated to 27psi

Im just wondering if the tyre guys actually put the tyre on the rim right?

Found these copies on eBay - appear to have the same 'proud' appearance as yours?

Well, I guess the two things that are different are the make of tire AND the make of wheel.
If it's not the tire, then perhaps there is a difference in the bead seating area on the replica wheel.
Here is a pic of my 7" Fuchs.
