I have been on Rennlist for a while, but mainly lurking in forums other than the 997 forum where I posted. I had a 2007 997 C2S but sold it after 70k miles. That was summer of 2011.
Two weeks ago I took delivery of a 1988 911 guards red with black 85k miles and two owners. It has the spoilers (factory options) but not the full turbo-look. The prior owner had it from 1994 and it has never been wrecked, tracked or seen rain (until I got it rained on during the drive home). But it isn't pristine - it is a solid driver and should be a fun toy.
I'm developing the list of initial projects (dome light only works with passenger door, polish the tail paint, replace key batteries, etc) but in no hurry to get them going. I do have one more urgent need and would appreciate any advice - my wife is 4-11 and the seat doesn't go forward far enough for her to really reach the pedals properly. Can it be moved forward or is there another accepted solution? Wouldn't offend her if it went up higher, too, although no more than an inch.
Thanks in advance, glad to be with the air gang!

Nice stuff! FYI, the non-turbo tail is usually called the "carrera tail".
Craig, it is the whale tale, just optioned separately with the front spoiler and not the turbo-look option which as I understand it included both spoilers and the flared fenders. Just like in your avatar.
ivangene, I will try again with her (PO reported that his wife at the same stature couldn't drive it so my wife hasn't even tried). The tracks work fine, I just assumed I needed to get her closer and maybe higher up than the standard adjustment range. Ok, I know, measure twice...
I did want to see how long before I got chided to post pics and told to leave her in the passenger seat if I let her in it at all! Not bad, y'all!
Congrats....sounds nice.
Question, who buys these cars that only see a few grand on the odo a year? What do they do, sit and look at them in the garage?

Ya. When you can't get home from work without being written up for doing burnouts in the intersection, driving it can be a bit nerve racking. "Smoked my tires??? Sure officer, whatever you say."
