NICE

H1's ?
17's ?

how about h4's (german ones) and leave the Fuchs alone
and post pics of ride height from the side - it doesnt look that far off to me - its not a tuner/drifter car the suspension needs room to work or it wont function properly

I did. The long lines leak freon, and I could never figure out if it could handle the newer gasses.

BTW, this is the handiest site in the world as a 911 owner - http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911world.htm

Also, pick up a real shop manual (not a Hayne's guide). Check eBay.

H1's will satisfy someone wanting HID's better than H4's. Their only drawback is price and availability.

Many have ditched the a/c system. They were marginal at best, and it can cost $2-3k to make the work well.

Yes, but save the parts (I did this with my Cab)

My Carrera on 17" Forgelines, using up rubber I have before getting new tires for my Fuchs
And yes, the 255s fit fine back there

My buddy Cus's 86, backdated wearing 17" Rota Fuchs..

those H4's come with chrome rings - there is a replacement mounting screw with additional "screw in screw" feature, a little plastic part and a paint-able trim ring you can add - somewhere I posted all the part numbers, they are tough to figure all out from the PET - but I swapped to H4's a while back and could not be happier - the car finally "looks right" too

BTW at that price I am guessing those are from Czechoslovakia - PASS - get some from Germany - only like $100 more but worth double in quality

H4's also come with black rings. Call Steve at www.rennsportsystems.com and he will set you up with the bright bulbs and the relay so you don't burn out your existing hi/low switch.

Hi and welcome.
You will find a wealth of info and a bunch of great 911 enthusiasts here.
You can lower these cars rather easily, but when you do, you should also have them corner balanced and aligned again. You should look for a good shop who knows how to set up a torsion bar 911 to balance and align it properly.
As far as wheels go, I would stay with the original Fuchs, looks like you have 6s & 7s, you can also go with 7s & 8s if you would like to fill out the wheel wells a bit more and use fatter rubber in the rear.
If you want to upsize, I'd keep it at 17".

cheers and enjoy your new ride

That looks like them, but make sure they are left hand drive. If you go with big bulbs you will want the relays too. Are you sure you are getting the rings and screws? What color are the rings?
