On my list of winter projects ('87 911 Cabrio) is a good cleaning of the interior. I also plan to Lexol the leather seats, but was wondering what other portions of the interior are also covered with leather and may need a preservative?
Second is a repair to the convertable top. Overall it is in great shape, but the stiching is coming undone at the four corners of the plastic rear window. It would seem to be a fairly simple job of removing the back panel and taking it to a top & upolstery shop and letting them restitch. Is this too simple a scenario?

If you search the archives you should find a discussion re: cleaning the interior (products, techniques, etc.) - I think it was posted around Sept. or October 2002.
As to the top- my guess is it may be harder than you make it sound but I could be wrong - it also likely depends on if its a manual (like mine) or power top.
Let us know how it goes and good luck,
Dan

If a 3.2 Carrera convertible top is the same as a 964 convertible top (they appear to be identical), removing the rear panel containing the window is a very difficult - it requires unwinding the cloth from the base of the convertible top mechanism. Best to leave it to a convertible top shop.
Good luck.
