Default price check please...1984 targa

1984 targa

Local car available. It is rough. It has been sitting outside under a tree or something for years.

It would need a complete interior. top redone. engine does not start, but it does turn over. wet with oil. the brakes would need a complete going through. new tires etc.

the paint is tired, but acceptable. no rust that i could see. no signs of collision. has 101000 miles when the odometer stopped working.

won't be able to do any ppi. so it would be a shot in the dark.

what would you pay for such a car? anybody have a "what the heck...at that price I will take a chance" price?

thanks!

That would be a good parts car, but a serious money pit if you were restore.

The Fuchs alone would be worth about a grand. I'd hate to see it parted out, so I'd try to buy it for $1500, and probably go to $2000.

My guess would be that there is corrosion somewhere, although you don't say where it sat.

Sad.

I crawled all through the thing. Looked under the spare etc. it is pretty solid. There are a few spots but nothing too bad. The carpet is lifted up and the floors are solid. Maybe it was under a carport or something.

The driver's side of the car was allowed to become saturated with water to the point that the moss was thick enough for snails to feast on it. Look below the door at the rocker. Not so worried about the smashed rocker, but rather the water damage coming from the door. Water is flowing right threw from the window, down the mechanicals and pooling in the bottom of the door. Yikes. Just imagine how bad the targa top is leaking. Someone went so far as taping visqueen to the car. Idiots.
