Hell I would go up 3500 with a motor and trans could still turn a profit parting it out if rust damage is more than I would want to tackle at that point in time

All kidding aside that is not that bad ! A bit dirty for sure but you would be surprised how well that paint
would clean up ,I'd easily spend 5K on that no problem,as said much previosly the engine alone is easily
worth 5 grand...
This car is complete no major damage, dark inteior can be easily sourced these guys are mostly if you can't find it at a dealer it's not a deal... flame if you want my suit is ON! Bert

A running, documented, proven engine is worth $5k. As described, who is going to fork out $5k?

Ed in my experience a running documented drive able 3.2 could be worth more likely 6k
if rebuilt much more $7500 -$8500 , a core 3.2 is most often valued running or not between
$3500 -$4500 minimum the OP said the donor remarked it ran when parked well who seriously knows?
That's just the engine yes it's certainly a toss up could win could lose but I have seen much
worse interms of condition....Bert

3.5k for a core motor seems like a lot to me, but i'm sure some ppl have gotten that before and I've seen people try and get more, a local salvage yard wanted 7500 for one in a wreck 911 out here... i'm sure they still haven't gotten rid of it but oh well!

My understanding is it was stored inside up to a "few" years ago. There are certainly more questions than answers and it doesn’t look any better in person than it does in the photos. Good catch on the wheels… although they do appear to all be the same size.
It appears it isn't so much what it’s worth as what they have been lead to believe it’s worth. Several people have looked at it… some have even made offers. Just not one they are willing to take at this point. If you want it, be persistent and perhaps $3500 will get it.

when i put them on one day i remembered they were all 7s so didnt much care where i threw them .. completely forgot i had wider rubber on the back than the front so got them all mixed up .. hey **** happens ..

incidentally see the body damage underneath ? if that is on both sides im betting the oil cooler lines are crushed ..

All that said I would grab this car in a second for 5 grand if i had a garage and the body was solid .. but im a project guy and love this stuff. My SC has been so rock solid for the last 7 years im getting bored. if that is dirt i would take it for sure .. if its rust though maybe not . I cant do rust

I offered them 4 and had it with me. But was rejected. I don't understand why the rear of the car would have crazed paint and not on the front. I suppose it could have been resprayed. I figured at 6 you would easily add another 6 getting it road worthy without addressing the paint. Another 5-6 on a good paint job and it is up to mid to high teens. At those numbers I would rather have a coupe. But that is just me.

Thats okay oscar you have to stop at your reserve. if i took it i would make it a project car to get driveable and have fun with .. matbe take it to the track for some slow lapping days intil the wheels fell off and I just left it there. As others pointed out restorign this ca r.. even putting fresh paint on it beyond a maco job would be a pointless expensive exercise, especially for a targa ... but who know , someone looking for a donor car might find this interesting..
