I think he's left himself 6-7k in profit for what they got the car for
I'm not a big fan of getting classic cars from dealers, esp if you are paying cash anyways
Nice car, good miles, but I think 18k is a realistic number in todays economy

I think it's a good deal for about $21K
Finding a clean pre-89 911 for under $20K is getting tough in my area.
An 83 SC Coupe with 217,000 miles just listed on Pelican for $17,500
Another 83 Coupe with 97,000 miles for $25K

A lot of those SC's you see in the 17k, 18's are also for sale for a REALLY long time... I check the market on my 911 in the PHX area about 2 times a month ou of shear desire to buy a track rat. I've seen a lot of SC's and some Carreras going for 6-8k over what they are probably worth, and they've also been for sale for 6+ months.... For some reason I'm noticing a larger and larger gap between the actual value someone is willing to pay for these cars and what some owners believe they can get, but like I said they ob-v aren't getting the inflated prices right now. I've literally seen on 79 or 80 SC converted to a widebody with 964 bumpers but otherwise stock a lil tired on sale from a stealership for at least a year ranging between 16 and 20k.... car is worth 13 IMO if the motor was in ok shape, its funny though some days its 18k, the next month 16k, the month after 20k.... I don't know how that guy stays in business because I've seen him peddling the same tired 911's for 5-8k above market value for a long time and he never really seems to sell too many
But hey if Carrera's start getting snapped up left and right at 25+ for not super low miles I'll be happier

I have been researching/shopping for my first Porsche and also saw that car on Ebay. Based on what I have seen on-line looking every day for a month, it looks priced right to me. Prices may vary a bit around the country but clean 84-89 cars with that kind of mileage don't seem to be under 20k. many priced in the mid-high 20's.
