Default intermittent convertible top problems

After reading another post regarding cold solder joints on the convertible top control unit board, I took mine for re-flowing. Unfortunately, my intermittent prblem still exists. Does anybody know what else can cause these problems besides broken solder joints on the control unit circuit board? (ie: bad components on the board, loose wires, bad relays on the board, etc) HELP PLEASE.

I have a bad COnvertible Top Roof Controller P/N 91161831300 for my 87 911 Cab. The Unit has been tested, can't be fixed and is dead. I am looking for another unit, either rebuilt or new. Any ideas where to get it? I looked evrywhere. How did you resolve your issue?

I found one out of California where a guy was parting out an '88 Turbo that had been totaled. I paid $100, and it works great. The only other place I found was an over seas company that sold them rebuilt and guranteed for $400. Don't remember their name, but try Googeling the part #. Good LUCK...I know how frustrating this can be!!!!!

AS a follow up to the above question regarding a bad control unit for 911 electric tops, I found a place in FL ( Specialized ECU Repair) that repairs these units and guarantees them for 5 years. They send you one, and you return your bad one. Cost $175, and it is darn well worth it!!! My top works great now.
