1974 Carrera 2.7 coupe.. help establishing value
Fellow experts. Trying to help a friend sell a 74 Carrera coupe. Any thoughts without seeing it what it's worth?
1974 Carrera Coupe 2.7
#137 out of 528 coupes
133,000 original miles
Overall condition Good
White exterior w black interior
Fuel pump/ lines just replaced (10/12)
Needs some TLC
Same owner for past 28 years
Garage Kept
No accidents
My buddy bought the car in 84 in Hermosa Beach,CA. The previous owner traded the original Duck tail for a Whale tail with Vasek Polak. This would need to be changed out for someone looking to bring the car to original specs. The car is clean & runs good. It is mostly clean under the car with minor leaks/seepage.
I'd post some pics if someone can tell me how to post from iPhone. This is a good car that needs some going thru.

Cool. Not seen many guys use it that way. Seems to work:

Driver's side door is in bad shape.

LOL,..That one was built right after mine: I've had #136 since 1974,...
I see several physical issues that affect value as well as many mechanical unknowns. One would need a thorough PPI and an inspection by someone who REALLY knows these particular cars to get an accurate appraisal.

OTOH... I have a nice 2.7 donor motor AND a complete MFI setup. B) Too bad the VIN has a "4" instead of a "6"!
Someone may get a good deal here if you're willing to put in the work. Needs the original ducktail though.

I mentioned to him he should get a PPI
What does the VIN having a "4" instead of a "6" represent??
Thanks.....from what I've gathered on various site, the car is in the $24-29 range. One just sold on ebay for $29.....thoughts/comments??

It tells whether the car is the European version vs the USA version - big difference in price

@pt767 - an early car with a VIN that starts wih "911460" is the sleeper car of the decade. It's essentially a 1974 G-bodied Carrera RS. The "6" denotes a factory Carrera, and in 1974 these cars had the exact same drivetrain as the venerated and iconic 1973 911 Carrera RS. For whatever reason, these cars seem to have been overlooked for many years. If I could find one at a decent price (not the $150K+ or even more that the '73 RS commands), I'd buy one of these cars in a heartbeat.

Believe it or not, I really don't have any decent pics since I've seen it every day for the last 38 years and never felt the need to take any.
When I get some time (and good weather), I'll work on that for you,...

I do recall SW posting some pics of his 74. There is not much comparison if I am thinking of the right car.
Nothing against the car in this thread, but it does appear to need some attention. I would also suggest a qualified inspection. Using Ebay and the like is not always a fair measure.
