Default 74 911 Carrera, need help identifying....

Need help identifying a 74 911, whether it's a Carrera and whether the flares were a factory option in that year?

I believe in 1974, they made a base model, an S, and a Carrera. I am thinking this would be a Carrera model because of the 44 designation in the serial number. The serial number is 9114400389 and the engine number is 6342138.

The rear end seems to have wide body flares on them. Was this offered as a factory option in this model year? If they were replaced at some point in it's life, it seems the entire rear quarter panel would have been replaced.

Look forward to everyone's feedback.

Your VIN isn't very far off from the car that gets me all hot and bothered...

VIN indicates that the car is a US-model 1974 Carrera coupe. When you say "wide body flares" are you referring to fenders like the 75-89 Turbos (930's) had? Or are you referring to the more subtle Carrera/SC flares? As I recall, the Carrera flares well welded on to the '74 and '75 MY US Carreras after the body came off the line.
