Default need some help please

I have a 85' 3.2l, Runs okay but I noticed lately that when I step on it. The revs go up but the car no go... It seams like the clutch is slipping but I am not changing gears. It does it in all gears. Any help would be great!!

I would like to add that it starts to go but really "slips" for a second and then seams to grab.

Sounds like a clutch issue to me.

Classic signs of a worn out clutch disc.

How many miles on the car and how is it driven?

Make sure your pedal is coming back up after you step on it. It might be a sticky pedal or binding cable at the back. Sounds like a dead clutch to me as well though.

i thought Carreras were hydraulic clutches but that may have just been the G-50 ? anyway the simple check is the cable adjustment, if it has one but that is wishes and dreams .. i think your clutch is toast.. even if it is not the root cause of the slippage its toast now anyway ...

Nope 915's were also cable engaged instead of the later hydraulic slave engagement.

While this could be what is making this happen, it sounds like a clutch disc more than anything else.

It would be good time to upgrade to the Sachs Power Clutch if it is indeed time. I did a quick search around the net and found this incredible deal.

I have no idea how they can offer it for this price as this is even less expensive than I can get it for wholesale, and I have never done business with them, but still a REALLY good price.

I hope that this is helpful to you.

Thank you for your responses, I was afraid that it was the clutch. I feel if I have to change the clutch I should get a rebuild done as it leaks oil out of the valve guide seals. This just pushes that project sooner. Has anyone put a twin turbo on these older engines and had success?

Thanks

Based on your stated expertise, I'd stick with a stock motor, and get that sorted correctly.
