Default Updating '69 911T -> '73 RSR Look

I know there are a few places where I can buy body panels but what I really need is some advice on how to go about upgrading the suspension, motor and trans.

I'm thinking that I'd like a late model suspension ( torsion bar delete, add coil overs ) and possibly with a > 3.0L + 6 speed (G50) transmission.

Am I crazy for wanting this much power in a really light car?

thanks in advance for the advice!

Why not start with a '87+ or even a 964 ('89-'94) and backdate it to what you want... less expensive imho...

I'm better at mechanical work than body work ... but I was told it's an easier mod.

That is what you are starting with !?? You lucky son of a gun!

That car looks very nice. Unless the photos are lying, I would just do H4 lights and enjoy driving the hell out of it!!

First, it's not that much power.

But most important from what I'm reading is that you're throwing out a bunch of modification jargon which 90+% of the time makes the whole less than the sum of the parts. "Coil overs" on a torsion bar chassis is not a magic pill. What do you hope to accomplish? Just have a stiffer suspension?

Also, why do you mention a 6 speed transaxle? Again, nothing magic about 6 forward gears. And I'm not even getting into the logistical issues of modifying and mounting the unit in a '69.

Explain a bit more about what the ultimate goal is, and we're more than happy to help. I've probably done 15 cars like you've outlined, though nothing since 1995.
