Harness installation
Sorry for the cross-post with Pelican but-
Does anyone have a recommendation for the mounting point location for lap belts? I have a '73 911, used to have the stock seats with the lap belts mounted to the seat, now have racing seats with four-point harness & eyebolts. Should the outside eyebolt mount to the base of my bolt-in Autopower rollbar (standard location, just in front of the rear seat bulkhead), or should they mount to the floorpan, or the center tunnel/rocker areas?
Thanks

Hi Turbo Dave,
I can't answer your question directly, but for the older 911's, the stock seat spacing is 18". For newer ones it is 16". As a result, you need to install an adapter plate to use newer seats. Iwhen I upgraded the seats in my 911, I opted to buy a plate from PE Parts (<a href="http://www.peparts.com" target="_blank">PE Parts</a>) that included the lower seat beat attachment points. The plates are predrilled to match the current seat attachment points and you may need to drill to match the seat rail but it's no biggie.
For a quick look at it installed, check my Web Site (<a href="http://members.aol.com/hdanberg/harrytarga.htm" target="_blank">web page</a>
Good luck!!
