Post Fluid Leak

My 88 carerra is leaking watery, rusty fluid from the front of the car, right behind the front license plate. Any ideas of what this could be? How safe do you think it is to drive?

Thanks in advance,

David

Watery rusty fluid, hmm. Do you have headlight washers? Open the front trunk and the washer pump is right next to the battery; you might have to remove some of the carpet to see it. I suggest checking the washer pump for leaks. That's the only watery substance I can think of in the car.

Thanks. I just had the washer pump replaced. So that is probably it. Is it a smallish white device?

That's it, it's white and mounts to several rubber tabs pressed into the body. If the hoses are old they might not fit too snug and might leak.

Mine was leaking a little and left a puddle under the front of the car. You might want shop vac/towel up any fluid in the car, it might cause a little rust.

Good luck
