Default Correct Spedo Face

Was wondering if anyone knows if the spedo used on the 1986 (non turbo) cars can vary by production number. I noticed all of the MY 87-89 ones do not have a white outline around the clock below the numbers in MPH and above the KPH. I have noticed the same on MY 86 cars Except for one that I am thinking about buying. Was 85 a transition year with 86 builds using leftover parts? I know this is a pretty arcane question but want to make sure the car is being correctly represented.

Thanks.

Looks like it changed within the 86 year, My car has no circle but have seen 86 cars that do.

That was about the time that Porsche was reaching into a couple of different parts bins. Some of that was driven by the ridiculous 85 mph speedo limits on cars in the early 1980s.
