Default Can an Ultimate Strut Hold up a Fiberglass Whale Tail?

So, I want to get the Ultimate Strut so I stop looking like an idiot with my broom stick holding up my whale tail, but when I went to Pelican to buy it I noticed it has a 25 pound weight limit. Even with FG the tail is heavy... does anyone know how much it weights?

Yeah I know, I don't want that, I mean the solid strut like in a "normal" car. Click the link in the first post.

I did, not sure even 2 will do it.
lighter than a mini IPOD. Drilling required for rear strut. These struts can support about 25 pounds. Do not try to support more than this weight, as it may bend too much

Hm. So you don't know how much a whale tail weights? I know it's heavy.

.... and just as a foot note ... sometimes its okay to just have a stick holding up your whale tail .. in some cases it becomes iconic ..

The best solution is to find a hinge from a wrecked 930 and buy it. It has the mounting points already welded on for you to put two struts on EACH side then. I used to do that for my 1981 SC that had an early Turbo Carrera tail on it. You will have to fabricate a receptacle for it which you can pop rivet to the firewall (ceiling!) The wall between the engine and the rear window's package shelf is two layers of steel thick with an air gap.
