1975 911 rebuilt 3.0L slant nose advice
Hey all,
I'm still in the hunt (months later) for a 911. I found this 1975 slant nose conversion (steel kit) with a built 3.0 liter motor put in, weber carbs, custom exhaust etc, love the 3 piece wheels. The listing can be found here:
http://inventory.sporthausmotors.com...-Reno/3618335/
I love the car and have talked with the seller who owns two 911s himself. I have done my homework and know about the usual suspects such as rust and heat issues. Just wanted a little expert advice. Thanks.

I hate when they say "built motor" no shizz sherlock, it runs right?
More specifically what was done to the motor to make it "built", for 25k I would want a build sheet, photos, be able to talk to the shop that built it. That will really determin if its worth 25k. First off an aftermarket slant nose even in steel doesn't really add value to a 911 since a lot of ppl don't like them (me included), but if he's got some nice 993 or turbo brakes on the car, nice 3 piece rims, and say a dul plug, tighter suspension, and a high compression 3.0l putting out good power yeah could be worth 25k
I mean other than that looks like a nice slant nose if you're into those sorta things
I think I just don't like the fact a small time dealer is selling it, the 911's I've seen by small time dealers have ALWAYS been a rip off, theres a guy in PHX who slangs 911's went down and looked at a few, a couple were decent DD.... too bad he was asking concours prices.... so you know buyer beware on this kinda thing, get a independent shop to look at it

You're right-you added no valuable information. Let me guess-first post from you telling him to buy it, no possible connection to the seller, right?

That ad was a huge disappointment. Just another frankenporsche that someone unloaded 'cause the wife threatened to leave. The seller doesn't have any idea what the car has on it or they would say it. The seller does sell a lot of Porsche so to me, it's run Forest run!!!

$25K for that
A dealer in my area was selling a decent 86 Slant Nose coversion-metal fenders.
Originally was asking $18K and sold it for $12K
Perfect low mileage Carrera for $22.5K

Nice SC Coupe

Whenever I see a car like that I always think. "How bad was the crash that made the owner do a slant nose conversion"
So much better stuff around for that kinda cash!

I get it!
Wow! Ok, so the message is it would be a rip off. Thank you for all the input. I'm still looking for that perfect carrera. Bottom line then is that 20k will buy a very nice, unadulterated 911. Now the trick is to distinguish between the rip offs and the genuine articles.
