Canton Racing CM Filters Drain-Back Issue

Happy New Year to our 911 brethren.
Over in 924/944/951-land, some of us are intent on fitting our engines with high performance spin-on oil filters made by Canton Racing Products, in Connecticut. This company is noted for its remote filters for use with accusump race applications.
In our cars, the filter is mounted upside down, and thus OE filters have an anti drain-back feature. In the Canton filters, the check feature consists of a rather flimsy rubber washer that apparently deteriorates from contact with the hot oil and, after a few hundred miles, ceases to keep the oil from draining back into the engine.
The result is noticeable "dry start" and a significant delay in building up oil pressure at start up.
I'm not familiar with the intricacies of the 911 engine lubrication system, but am curious if any of you using spin-on Canton filters on your street cars have experienced problems with the drain-back feature and am interested in any ideas (other than an accusump) you care to offer about correcting this problem (e.g. replacing the rubber washer with something else).
TIA
